Which frame offers the best digital photo frame slideshows?

When it comes to digital photo frame slideshows, there’s a lot to consider. From play order and personalization, to ease of use and remote-control capabilities, there’s no one-size-fits-all system. That being said, some digital photo frames like the Pix-Star offer an extremely well-balanced slideshow experience.

Pix-Star’s frames arguably offer the most versatile slideshows on the market. You have tons of control over the play order & frequency of photos & videos within slideshows. Pix-Star’s digital frames can be set to play recent photos more frequently – making sure your loved ones are always up to date with what’s going on in the family. Alternatively, you can exclude older photos to keep your slideshows fresh & new.

Pix-Star’s play order is easy to adjust and you can even start slideshows from selected files and folders. This gives you almost unparalleled control over what you see in slideshows; it also means you don’t need to sit through all your photos just to see the couple that you’re waiting for. You can move files and folders around using the media library & explorer directly on the frame. This can also be done remotely via your Pix-Star’s web dashboard.

On the web dashboard, you can control & manage up to 25 connected Pix-Star frames from a single user account. It’s an excellent feature for families and lets you remotely control almost every aspect of the frame’s functions & performance. You can start slideshows on any connected Pix-Star digital frame from anywhere in the world. You can even choose the photo sources to include or exclude in the slideshows.

Pix-Star’s frames are easy to use thanks to the ability to adjust slideshow settings without having to exit the slideshow. You simply need to press the “Menu” button on the frame or the handheld remote. You can rotate images, adjust the display brightness & color settings, delete photos, change transition style & speed, adjust the play order, picture display style & preference, and much more.

Another great feature is Pix-Star’s auto-on/off feature. You can set the frame to follow an on/off schedule for times that nobody will be in the house. Alternatively, you can use the Pix-Star frame’s motion sensor to automatically wake the frame up when somebody walks into the room or the sensor’s range.

Finally, Pix-Star’s frames can include videos in slideshows. This is quite a unique feature even among the top digital photo frames. Videos can be set to play muted or with sound. There’s a great audio feature that lets you play radio stations, songs, or audio files over slideshows. It’s a great way to further personalize slideshows to suit any room, theme, occasion, and mood.

How to get the perfect digital photo frame slideshows every time?

The aspect ratio of your digital photo frame has one of the biggest impacts on digital photo frame slideshows. For example, if your digital photo frame is 16:9, but your phone takes 4:3 photos (as most modern smartphones do), these photos will be boxed in by black pillar bars when displayed on the frame. This is why premium digital photo frames like the Pix-Star use 4:3 displays. They perfectly match the photos we take on our smartphones – and more closely match the aspect ratio of cameras (usually 3:2). Photos will display using the full screen and won’t be distorted in any way. Slideshows are more immersive and your viewing experience is enhanced.

With digital frames like the Pix-Star, you can create folders & files and fill them with intentionally selected photos. You can then select the folders to play customized slideshows from – giving you total control over the content and pictures displayed on your frame. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t a widely offered one; it’s mostly limited to top digital frames like the Pix-Star – and rarely found on cheap to mid-range frames.

You should be able to start slideshows remotely. It’s usually done via the frame’s web interface (if your frame has this feature). This lets you start & manage slideshows from anywhere in the world. You won’t need to be right next to the frame and won’t need to wait until the next family visit from the next set of photos. It’s a feature that ties in well with the ability to remotely receive photos via email, mobile app, web imports, etc. Frames like the Pix-Star digital photo frame are some of the best-balanced options with these features on today’s market.

How to set up digital photo frame slideshows remotely?

With Pix-Star’s digital photo frames, you get access to the web dashboard. Here you can remotely configure most of the frame’s settings, start & control slideshows, manage storage, etc. Open & log in to your Pix-Star frame’s web dashboard and head over the “Switch Slideshow” tab in the left-hand panel. Here you select the sources you want to play a slideshow from.

You can select specific sources (e.g., Facebook or Instagram) to play a slideshow with a previously linked album. You can then adjust these slideshows using the “My Frame Configuration” settings & options. Alternatively, you can adjust slideshow settings directly on the frame or by using the handheld remote.

How to start digital photo frame slideshows on the Pix-Star frame?

There are a couple of different ways to start slideshows on Pix-Star digital photo frames. The first is directly on the frame’s home screen. It’s the fastest & most efficient way to start slideshows and only requires two button presses. On Pix-Star’s home screen, navigate one tile over to the “Start a slideshow with all the frame’s picture” tab. Press “OK” on the remote control or directly on the frame’s onboard controls. This starts with a slideshow using all the available pictures on the frame.

The second option involved going into the frame’s “Media Library” from the home screen. It’s the main tile and is automatically highlighted when landing on the home screen. Here you can browse through all the sources of photos, videos, and audio messages. Inside each source, you can browse through and select any files & folders you want to include in the slideshow.
