Is the Pix-Star digital frame good for grandparents?

The Pix-Star digital frame is excellent for grandparents thanks to a robust remote-control feature (manage and control your frames from anywhere in the world), importing photos from social media & photo-sharing sites, and extensive Wi-Fi & cloud functionality. You can make sure that your grandparents’ frame displays all the latest photos, shared between all the frames in the family, in versatile and easy-to-manage slideshows.

Pix-Star’s frames are also great for offline use. They have 8GB of internal storage and extensive USB/SD card support. You can either copy photos and videos directly to your frame’s internal storage from a connected USB/SD card, or view slideshows directly from the USB/SD card (no need to copy anything to local storage).

Pix-Star’s interfaces on the mobile app, web interface, and frame are intuitive and easy to navigate. There’s a motion sensor that wakes the frame up when you walk into the room. Slideshow settings can be adjusted without having to exit the current slideshows. Pix-Star’s frames are built with the elderly user in mind and cater effortlessly to the needs of the modern home and family at the same time!

How to remotely control the Pix-Star digital frame?

You can remotely control the Pix-Star digital frame through the web interface. This feature allows you to manage and control up to 25 connected Pix-Star frames from anywhere in the world. You can adjust the frame’s settings, start slideshows and change their settings, manage local & cloud storage, update firmware, and much more.

To remotely control your Pix-Star frame, login into your frame’s web dashboard or multi-frame control group. Click on “Configure frame” at the top of the window. Here you can remotely start slideshows and adjust many of your Pix-Star frame’s features.
This web interface has a bunch of other functions that let you import photo albums from social media and photo-sharing sites – saving them directly on the frame’s internal storage.

Can the Pix-Star digital frame view photos from Facebook?

Pix-Star’s digital frame can view photos from almost a dozen social media & photo-sharing platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive & Photos, Dropbox, Flickr, and more. This web album feature lets you link photo albums from the selected platforms to any of your Pix-Star frames. Once linked, the album will sync and save on the receiving frame (to grant offline access).

Pix-Star’s digital frames let you remotely start slideshows from web albums via the web dashboard. You can manage all web albums online, make changes, deletions, and even set them to automatically update & sync whenever you add new photos. This means you simply need to load your photos to a single linked account on one of the supported platforms – and all connected Pix-Star frames will receive the photos. This automates much of the photo-sharing process and removes a lot of the frustrations – especially for elderly users and big families.

Is the Pix-Star digital frame worth it for families?

Pix-Star’s digital frame is one of the best digital frames for families on today’s market. They specifically cater to the family and the elderly user at the same – all without losing versatility or compromising on performance. This is seen through family features like free-for-life cloud storage, sending & receiving photos wirelessly from anywhere in the world, the ability to remotely manage & control up to 25 Pix-Star frames from anywhere, and a web album feature that lets you import – and automate the process – photos from external sources like social media, your computer, and photo-sharing platforms.

Pix-Star’s frames can be easily interconnected and managed in multi-frame control groups. You can start & manage slideshows no matter where you are. You can link photo albums remotely, play videos in slideshows, and audio over slideshows. They’re quick easy to set up and intuitive to navigate. If your grandparents aren’t comfortable with the device, you can control almost every aspect of it to display photos in versatile slideshows, manage their storage, and much more – without them having to lift a finger.

How to send photos to the Pix-Star digital frame?

Pix-Star’s digital frame offers several ways to send photos & other media to their frames – both wirelessly and while offline. The most popular method is to use the Pix-Star Snap mobile app. It’s available on both iOS and Android and lets you send pictures, videos, and audio messages directly from your phone to your frame(s). You can send up to 250 photos to several of your Pix-Star frames in one go – making it the ideal method for families and those that share a lot of photos.

All media received on the Pix-Star frame from the mobile app can be set to automatically save to internal storage (and they’ve backed up the cloud automatically). Additionally, these incoming photos can be set to display immediately in the current slideshow.

Pix-Star’s web interface gives you access to the web album feature. Here you can import photos directly to your Pix-Star frame’s local storage from external sources. These sources include almost a dozen different social media, photos-sharing, and online storage platforms. Supported sites include Facebook, Google Drive, Google Photos, Dropbox, Instagram, Flickr, and more.

Web albums are saved for offline use and be set to automatically sync & download any photos that are added in the future. Web albums can be managed and linked remotely via the web interface – where you can start slideshows from them, delete unwanted albums, etc.

Emailing photos to your Pix-Star frame(s) is another popular method that’s great for elderly users or anyone that’s not tech-savvy. You simply need to add the photos as attachments to the email and address them to your frame’s unique email address. You can send to multiple frames at the same time and can set these photos to automatically display as they are received.

USB/SD card support lets the Pix-Star frame receive and view video files, photos, and read audio files from a connected USB/SD card. You can start slideshows directly from the USB/SD card and don’t have to copy its content to the frame’s internal storage. Alternatively, you can copy any files & folders you want to the frame’s internal storage (note that you can’t transfer audio files to the frame’s local storage).
