As you know the latest wireless photoframes from Pix-Star (PXT510xxxxx, FotoConnect XD) are equipped with a technology called \u201cSAMBA\u201d which makes your Pix-Star behave like a network disk on your local network (make sure your Pix-Star WiFi connection is properly configured).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is very easy from a PC or a MAC to browse wirelessly the content of the memory of the Pix-Star directly from the file manager of the computer. You can then copy photos to the frame memory, delete photos, create new folders, reorganize photos, change folder names, change file names, etc\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here a few more information on how to do this easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMARK:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you purchased your frame before Nov. 1st 2014, there is no user name and password to access pictures through samba over the local network.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For frames purchased after Nov. 1st, 2014, you need to use a user name and password.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check inside the menu ABOUT of the CHANGE SETTINGS menu of the frame if you have an information mentioning a user name and password to access the frame with SAMBA.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– If your computer is a PC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the PC, open the File Manager and look on the left side at the \u201cnetwork neighborhood\u201d section. When you click on this choice you should directly see a disk called \u201d Pix-Star \u201c, if not then try to go to the icon called \u201d MSHOME \u201c, your Pix-Star is inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve found the Pix-Star network disk, you just click on it to open, inside you will see a disk called \u201d Share \u201c, click one more time and the disk called \u201d Pix-Star\u201d which is the local memory of your frame. Form here you can start to create new folders, add pictures, remove pictures, etc\u2026 directly wirelessly from the PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once added, the pictures will be immediately visible from the frame \u201d Local album \u201d menu or inside the Frame File Manager menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

some user mentioned also that on Windows 7 and above it is possible to access the frame through SAMBA using this method:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control Panel –> Network\/Sharing –> Map –> Pixstar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then you sign in with SAMBA credential, and then make Pixstar shortcut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– If your computer is a MAC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the finder of your MAC, normally on the left side you should see a section called \u201d SHARED \u201c. Inside your Pix-Star disk should be already visible. Then double click on it to open it, normally after a few seconds it should display a disk called \u201d SHARE \u201d this is where you need to enter by double clicking again. The next step should then show you the Pix-Star disk which is actually the memory of your frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once inside this window, click on the “connect ” button located upper right of the window, then enter the user name and password found inside the ABOUT menu of the CHANGE SETTINGS menu of the frame (if your Pix-Star was purchased after nov. 1st 2014).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will authenticate and if successful you should arrive inside the frame’s memory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From here you can start to create new folders, add pictures, remove pictures, etc\u2026 directly wirelessly from your computer. Once added the pictures will be immediately visible from the frame \u201d My Local album \u201d menu or inside the File Manager menu of the frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
